Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), one of the world’s largest integrated pulp and paper manufacturers, launched construction in 2022 of the world’s largest pulp production base on OKI Island, Indonesia. As a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative, the facility represents a major milestone in global pulp manufacturing capacity expansion.
The OKI pulp mill spans approximately 178,000 square meters, with an impressive daily pulp production capacity of 19,000 tons. Designed with advanced automation systems, high-efficiency power distribution, and strict environmental compliance standards, the project sets a new benchmark for large-scale pulp production facilities in Southeast Asia.
Daqo Secures Major Transformer Supply Contract
In September 2023, Daqo signed a contract with APP to supply 209 oil-immersed power transformers, with a total contract value of USD 12.93 million. This agreement further strengthened Daqo’s position as a reliable transformer manufacturer for large-scale industrial infrastructure projects.
All transformer units were delivered under CFR (Cost and Freight) terms by June 2024, ensuring timely shipment and logistics coordination. Installation, commissioning, and full operational integration were completed by December 2024, meeting the project’s strict construction schedule.
Oil-Immersed Transformers for Large-Scale Industrial Power Distribution
The supplied oil-immersed transformers play a critical role in the OKI pulp mill’s electrical distribution system. Designed for heavy industrial loads, these transformers ensure:
